A bride is a woman who is about to be married or who is a newlywed. She is usually attended by a maid of honor and/or bridesmaids and sometimes by groomsmen. The bride’s future husband is referred to as the groom, and she is often given gifts, such as a wedding ring or bouquet.
Throughout the planning process, it’s important for the bride-to-be to feel like the star of her own love story. Whether through grand gestures or simple acts of kindness, every little thing will make her feel cherished and appreciated on her big day.
While it can be easy to get swept up in the details of a wedding, remember that it’s not about the flowers, or the food, or even how beautiful the cake is. The most important part of any wedding is the ceremony – the act of two people making a lifelong promise to one another before God and witnesses.
As the ceremony unfolds, the bride will be surrounded by loved ones who will want to give their best wishes and support. This is a special time for the bride-to-be to spend with those closest to her and show them how much she appreciates their friendship and support. Whether it’s through a toast at her bridal shower, a handwritten note on her wedding day, or just a heartfelt conversation, these little gestures will be remembered long after the day has passed.
After the couple has exchanged rings, they will walk down the aisle together, surrounded by their wedding party and guests who are cheering them on and offering their blessings. Traditionally, the bride’s parents and grandparents walk ahead of her and are followed by flower girls or ring bearers. The bride’s maid or matron of honor and the groomsmen follow next, and finally the rabbi or cantor completes the procession.
After the couple has walked back up the aisle, it’s time for the recessional. This is a joyous moment when the entire wedding party makes their way back to the reception, and guests cheer them on and offer their congratulations once again. During the recessional, some couples like to add a fun element by tossing their bouquets behind them. If you’re not comfortable with this, it’s perfectly okay to let go of this tradition altogether and simply have the bride hold her bouquet. Traditionally, the bride will then throw it at a group of single women, and it’s believed that whoever catches it will be the next one to get married.
